Welcome to Hoffman Educational Consulting.

A former college admissions director helping college admissions staff with their most pressing needs.

I’ve been in your shoes.

I spent a lot of time in college admissions, rolling up my sleeves and getting to work. But the modern-day admissions staff are charged with the impossible:

  • Reading thousands of applications

  • Recruiting a diverse class

  • Emails, marketing, digital ads, video

  • HR and hiring

  • Planning programs and events

  • Data analysis and CRM management

As demands increase for every admissions officer in the country, so do expectations. That’s where I come in. I’m here to help — through project-based consulting, hourly assistance, and functional area courses for new and seasoned admissions staff.

How can I help you?

    Rural College Access

The co-founder of the Rural and Small Town Special Interest Group at NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling), Dr. Hoffman has extensive experience consulting with institutions hoping to attract and enroll more rural students.

    International Admissions

Dr. Hoffman is the former chair of International Admissions at Vanderbilt and a board member of the International Association for College Admission Counseling. He has traveled to more than 100 countries - including dozens and dozens across Africa, Asia, and South America - on behalf of admissions.

    Access for Underserved Students

Having served as the inaugural Director of Access at Swarthmore, increasing the number of first generation students enrolled at the College by 99% during his tenure, Dr. Hoffman is committed both professionally and personally to increasing college access for historically marginalized students.
